Rights and permissions

The hymns themselves belong to the tradition: nothing in a Kānti Press edition restricts anyone from reciting, copying, or teaching the Saṃskṛta texts it contains. What the press holds is the copyright in its editions: the selection and arrangement, the IAST transliteration, and the meanings in Hindī and English. The enquiries below concern those.

Translation and reprint rights

Rights in the press’s editions – translation, reprint, anthology, or electronic – are available in all territories and are handled by the press directly. Write with the title, the rights sought, and the intended market, and you will have an answer from the person who made the book.

Permissions

Brief quotation for review, criticism, or scholarship needs no permission. To reproduce the press’s transliterations or meanings at greater length – in teaching materials, an anthology, an order of worship, or online – please ask first. We aim to say yes to devotional and educational use.

Review copies

Review copies are gladly supplied to editors, reviewers, and teachers considering a title for a course. Request one through the contact form, choosing “Review copy request” as the subject.
